Event Details

The Keyhole Sessions is pleased to present a Toronto screening of Miss Representation, a documentary about women's portrayal in the media, both in front and behind the camera.

"The film Miss Representation exposes how American youth are being sold the concept that women and girls’ value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. It’s time to break that cycle of mistruths."

A panel discussion after the film will also be held, with Q&A. Panelists include Sonya JF Barnett, owner of The Keyhole Sessions and Co-founder of SlutWalk Toronto, a movement against victim-blaming and sexual-profiling; Stacey May Fowles, co-editor of She's Shameless: women write about growing up, rocking out and fighting back, former publisher of Shameless Magazine and current writer for The Walrus; and Claire Kerr, non-profit veteran and author of 'Does 'Dove Real Truth About Beauty' Think Women Are Real Stupid?'.

You can purchase advance tickets above, or at The Royal Cinema Box Office. Box office opens at 6:15.
